On last Friday the 1/2 classes were lucky enough to be asked to join Beechworth Honey for a Bee School experience. The students stayed inside the Bee School and worked their way around the station that explored bees, pollination, looking at bees under microscopes, analysing the bark of trees, the Queen Bee and more. Then the students worked through a honey tasting where they got to experience the different flavours and textures of varieties of honey that are created by different nectar. They finished by going for a walk to look at the famous apple blossom tree of Beechworth and had a look around the Bee Archive which showcases the history of bee keeping. The students were even lucky enough to receive a Beechworth Honey showbag to take home.
