Running the athletics carnival this year has been a huge logistical event to organise and we have been particularly challenged with the ongoing wet and miserable weather this year and as a result, the very wet state of the oval. It has been a day-to-day situation monitoring the oval to judge whether the carnival can in fact go ahead at all.
So, the dots have finally aligned and we have been able to have our Athletics Carnival! We could not have asked for a better day. The students thoroughly enjoyed the day. I was impressed with both their efforts and their sportsmanship. Thank you to the parents who helped and came to watch and cheer the students on. A massive thank you to Cherie Griffin for her organisation of the event. The District Athletics Carnival will be held next Wednesday 7 th September in Albury. The Compass Event with all the carnival details will be available Monday for families to consent and pay for their child/ren to participate at the carnival. Unfortunately, we are unable to get this out until we check the results from today and add the names to the event. Spectators are allowed and encouraged to attend the event. Students need to bring their own healthy snacks, lunch and drink bottle. We wish our students all the very best as they challenge their athletic ability against the best young athletes in our District.
