Our Transition and Buddy Programme for 2018/19 is well on its way. Grade 5 students who have elected to have a Kinder buddy have had the opportunity to visit their buddies at Beechworth Kindergarten during Term 3. Children who did not attend Beechworth Kindergarten came to the school for a meet-and-greet to connect with their buddies before our first official Transition Day.

On Tuesday 16^th October, Ms Weideman, Chez and all the Grade 5 buddies eagerly awaited the arrival of our soon-to-be Foundation students. The Grade 5s did a fantastic job of welcoming their buddies and had everyone settled in, in no time at all. A great morning of play, stories and craft was had by all and before we knew it, it was eleven o’clock and time to go home!

Since our first session, Kinder students have attended a further two Transition sessions – Tuesday 30^th October & Tuesday 13^th November – during which they have strengthened their bonds with their buddies and each other, and have wowed us with their independence and thirst for learning.

Kinder children will attend two further Transition sessions this term before we officially welcome them as our Foundation Class of 2019.

• Tuesday, 11^th December 2018
