Beechworth Primary school offers a Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) program for all year levels. At BPS, we predominantly use the Primary Connections Program. Primary Connections is a well-researched and extensively trialled program that is linked to the Australian Science Curriculum. It also aligns with other curriculum areas, including Literacy, Mathematics, Critical and Creative Thinking and Intercultural understanding. The Primary Connections approach uses guided inquiry and hands-on investigations, to allow students to explore and test on their own and develop evidence to support their claims.

At B.P.S we also aim to get involved in local community programs and draw on the expertise of our school community to learn about what scientific work looks like.
